Situation and question
A branded manufacturer in B2B food receives potential leads from digital campaigns. The manufacturer does not have sufficient resources to call all the leads themselves. Therefore, there is a need for a lead classification model.
Based on analysis of historical data, lead potential criteria were determined. These are: the total number of dishes on the menu, the number of desserts offered, location characteristics (city vs outlying area and socioeconomic data from Dutch Stat database CBS), number of seats, type of kitchen and length of existence of the business.
The so called “chocolate mousse index” is calculated per contact based on the data listed and added to the contact details.
Old situation: leads are manually filtered and checked by manufacturer’s staff.
New situation: the LPM provides a list of highest to lowest scoring potential leads that the sales department can call. A choice can be made to mail the lowest scoring leads or approach them via external telesales.
